Wendy McDougall – Founder

With a BA (hons) in Organisational Management, Wendy has been involved in the service industry for the past nine years, with the most recent seven years specialising in the provision of technology and business solutions. Her expertise ranges from providing tailored resourcing solutions for the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) market to overseeing multimillion corporate IT accounts. Her sector experience is broad; however, her specialty is within the technology, financial and public sectors.

Wendy started her recruitment career on the west coast of Scotland with a leading Scottish recruitment agency. Individually, she quickly became the company’s top performing consultant and held that title for the four years prior to her departure. Likewise, the IT division, which she started from scratch, grew to generate a business unit with an £8 million turnover. Operationally, she has managed and initiated master vendor arrangements, application/project delivery, vendor management, and contract management for clients within the local Scottish market.

It has been Wendy's vision since a young age to run and drive her own company. With her proven success and in-depth understanding of the technology and recruitment market, she established 9-20 recruitment in 2004. Her aim is to grow and develop a successful company – rewarding and encouraging success.


Kenneth McDougall - Company Advisor

Kenneth has been running a number of businesses for the last 45 years. His most successful and widely respected company was Ellis & McDougall Lifts Ltd., a Scottish lift manufacturing and maintenance company, where he was the managing director and owner for 40 years. The company was founded in 1964, employed 250 people, and had a turnover of £8 million. In 1992, the company was acquired by Kone PLC, a global company that allowed Kenneth an exit strategy over a 10-year period. For the last three years, he has been advising start-up companies and mentoring family run businesses through successful acquisitions.

His business skills and entrepreneuring spirit will greatly assist 9-20 recruitment in achieving the targets and market vision that we are aiming at. He will be taking a strategic advisory role, overseeing the direction and plans for growth throughout Scotland.


Ian Neilson - Financial Controller

Ian has been a chartered accountant for 20 years and has been able to assist over 20 young SME companies achieve sound financial growth and expansion. 9-20 recruitment are delighted that he will be overseeing the financial control of the company, ensuring that we have a sound platform for growth.


Gordon Brown – Head of Marketing

Gordon has been established with in the professional IT recruitment market for the past 5 years. He began his IT recruitment career in London in 1999, servicing a national UK account and focussing on candidates’ delivery channels. Gordon then returned to Scotland where he continued his expertise within the IT recruitment market, representing two of the largest Scottish-based IT agencies.

With 5 years' experience in IT recruitment, Gordon has specialised in contract management and permanent recruitment on the west coast of Scotland. His experience and understanding of the local market has allowed Gordon to identify opportunities to improve the recruitment market, and has joined 9-20 recruitment to start making a difference to the overall quality and personal service for his clients and candidates.

When working with Gordon as your account manager, you will quickly acknowledge the effort and enthusiasm he is able to generate when searching and selecting suitable candidates on your behalf. He strives to fulfil your requirements and achieve 100% customer satisfaction.
